Ashley

I'm so excited to be finishing up my fourth term at Langara! So excited!

It's been a wild ride - but I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel! One of the great things about the Professional Photography Program at Langara is that the first three terms are really dedicated to learning what makes a good photo - all of the technical aspects that you learn to start thinking about in the back of your mind. Things like lighting ratios and correct exposure at the time of capture are so so important and complicated sometimes, but sooner or later these processes just become habit!

One of my favourite parts about being in the fourth term this year, is being able to get back to my creative roots! We were given the opportunity to design our own assignments and focus in on what we want our final portfolios to look like once we leave the school in April! Among my work with couples and families (Take a look at the Toeckes!), working with a single individual and capturing some portraits is one of my favourite types of sessions. We get to spend time chatting, getting to know each other while we capture some gorgeous imagery of you!

The latest assignment that I've developed was a smoking photoshoot! I contacted Ashley and she was all for it! After some pre-planning, we met in her Langley home for her shoot! It was an amazing session - not only did I have a gorgeous model, but her house looked like it came straight from a magazine! Definitely goals for redecorating after I graduate! She had this super cool metal chair that was a perfect mix of industrial with her light blue walls!

Take a look at some of my favourites!

Don't forget to check Ashley out on instagram! She's got an amazing modelling feed!
