Its kind of funny - when I took my commercial photography class I never expected there to be a fine art element to it. I was able to do an entire assignment based around fine art. I chose to stick to an organic element - flowers. To spice things up a bit I added some fairy lights and wove them through the flowers and around the vase I borrowed from my mom. After my tripod was all set up and focus set - I began to take photos of individual sections of the bouquet and specific flowers. 

Later, I pieced all these images together in photoshop to create a solid image, added on a few colour corrections and a crop and boom! A fine art piece ready for any wall!

The first image was created with clear marbles and a constant light with a long exposure. I played with swirling the marbles and zooming the lens. The second was created using the same methods, but I used blue marbles that featured streaks the shades of blue and white.

For the commercial Final Exam, it was very open ended for what we could shoot and come up with. It could be a product, food item, product still, or a fine art piece. 

I personally chose to shoot a fine art peice, because  I enjoy making them the most. I did a large amount of fine art pieces in high school and fine art always seemed like a natural choice. Plus, in a high pressure situation - like an exam - sometimes its nice to not have to worry about the results too much. The beauty about how I approach fine art, is that the image dosen't quite know what its supposed to be or turn out at the start, its your job as a photographer to see the potential and make something beautiful out of it.

So i grabbed a salad bowl, and a couple bags of marbles and got to work in the studio. Using a snoot to dial in the light and some long exposures, I was able to capture the following images!
